Comforting words

Mom has returned from the hair salon.  Her hair, which used to fall below her shoulders, has been cut to just below her ears.  B walks into the kitchen and sees her for the first time since “the transformation”.

B — Wow!  Mom, your hair is beautiful!

Mom — Thank you.  You like it, then?

B — Yes.

He leaves the kitchen and finds R, who is in the bathroom, washing his hands.

B, excitedly — R, Mom cut her hair and it’s short!!  It looks like a bowl!!

R — What?!  Is it even all the way around her head?

B — Yes!  It looks like a wig!

R runs into the kitchen to see for himself, with B on his heels.

B — Don’t worry, Mom.  It’ll grow back.
